New Delhi – 2001

I had a side-trip to New Delhi on one of my normal trips to our jobsite south of Mumbai. We have a large office there and it is my only trip ever – which is pretty unusual in my company.

Had the standard stay in the guest house and they cooked dinner there for whoever was in town. Originally, I didn’t think I would get to the Taj Mahal as I had an early morning flight on Saturday – but did some rearranging of my return flight to get a mid-afternoon flight and one of the drivers was happy to make some extra money on a Saturday. It was 6 hours round-trip and needed to be back to the airport by 2pm. So we left at 6am which would give us 2 hours at the Taj. At 9am, we were still stuck in traffic so we had to go to plan B – sites in New Delhi.
